Convenience. This is what the American way of life has been founded on. If you take a close look at any big city in America you will see that it is all about convenience. With a restaurant on corner # 1, a Starbucks on corner #2, a grocery store on corner #3, and an office building on corner #4, the average Joe could easily never leave that 4 corner intersection and get along just fine.

This, I believe, is what Sharepoint Services had in mind when they created their system. This is especially true with their Web Part management system. It is so unbelievably simple to edit, create, and manage I almost think it is too good to be true. However, I cannot argue with what is right in front of my eyes.

I recently learned how to create a new task board in Sharepoint Services. Since I am a writer the task board was entitled "Writing Queue". It is a new way for the people I write for to task a new writing request to me without having to go back and forth e-mailing. Anytime they want a piece written, they simple assign it as a task in the Writing Queue.

So, let me break down the process.

1. Log into your Sharepoint Services account. You DO need Administrative rights to accomplish this task so be sure you have that.
2. Next, click on the "Site Actions" tab located in the right hand corner of your page.
3. Once you have clicked the "Site Actions" tab, a drop down menu will appear. Find the "Create" option and click on it.
4. Now you will be directed to a page that has a horizontal menu bar in the center of the page. Find the "Tracking" heading. Under that heading, there will be an option that is titled "Tasks". Click on that option.
5. You will now be taken to a page that asks you to title your new tasks board and give it a description. So do it. Remember, I titled my new task board "Writing Queue" because the only tasks that should be listed in this folder is writing assignments.
6. After you have titled and described your new task board, scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the "Create" tab.

And there you have it! Now all you need to do is add tasks to be completed.

Now you can create a new task board in Sharepoint Services for each department within your company. This will serve the cause of organization very well.
